NEP Group announced today that it has acquired Mediatec Asia Pacific. Financial terms were not disclosed.

NEP Group announced today that it has acquired Mediatec Asia Pacific. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction will bring Mediatec Asia Pacific, based in the Melbourne, Australia, into NEP’s worldwide network of brands. NEP is headquartered in the United States with locations in the UK, Ireland, Europe, UAE, and Australia.

NEP is one of the largest outsourced production partners supporting premiere content producers across the broadcast and live events industries. With services ranging from outside broadcast, studio production, video display, host broadcast, post production, smart asset / media management, to multi-screen delivery and end-to-end OTT solutions, NEP is able to support thousands of events around the globe each year. The acquisition of Mediatec Asia Pacific will extend NEP’s video display capabilities into Australia and other countries in the region.

“Mediatec Asia Pacific has an exceptional reputation for service in the Australian market. I am very pleased to have them join NEP as we continue to expand our international video display and live events business,” said NEP Group CEO Kevin Rabbitt. “Working with our NEP Australia operations and our other display companies around the world, Mediatec Asia Pacific will be able to offer significantly deeper resources and have the support they need to service their clients worldwide.”

Mediatec Asia Pacific will remain an independent operating entity, based in the Melbourne, and will continue to be managed by Ben Claydon, Owen Davison and Steve Letch.

“Becoming a part of the NEP Worldwide Network is a great benefit to our clients, staff and partners,” said Mediatec Asia Pacific co-founder Owen Davison. “We now have access to a much broader pool of resources, which will allow us to support our growth in-country and throughout the region. We look forward to working with the NEP team to continue to expand the business.” Equally excited about the acquisition is Kenneth Paterson, Managing Director of Mediatec Solutions in Europe, who said “I have worked with the team in Australia for many years, and there is a great deal of mutual trust and respect that we have developed. For years I had hoped to find a way to bring the Mediatec Asia Pacific group into the larger Mediatec Solutions brand, and now that we are a part of the NEP Worldwide Network, we are now able to finally make that a reality.” The Mediatec Asia Pacific acquisition will also provide a broader range of solutions to the existing NEP Australia’s client base. “The addition of Mediatec Asia Pacific to the NEP network in the Australian market offers a tremendous opportunity for our client base,” said Soames Treffry, President of NEP Australia. “Our clients have been asking us for video display for years and now by working collaboratively with our sister company, Mediatec, will be able to provide these additional services to our clients."
