Inside NEP's New PCR in Los Angeles
There's a new control room online at NEP's Los Angeles facility, and it's built for scale. Designed to support major live productions, including work for a leading streaming partner, this new PCR brings together a high-capacity production switcher, a fully redundant routing infrastructure and a replay system built for fast-paced, multi-angle coverage. For rightsholders and live content producers, that means delivering a more dynamic viewing experience to audiences from a centralized hub where efficiency and scalability are built into every workflow. Take a closer look at what's inside.
A Full-Service Production Campus
NEP's Los Angeles facility is more than a control room. It's a highly connected, integrated production campus, built to support a wide range of workflows under one roof.
The facility includes:
- Insert stages for studio and live production
- Meeting rooms and office spaces for client and production teams
- Flexible control rooms designed for broadcast operations, adaptable to a range of production needs
- Audio and replay support spaces equipped for complex productions
- Broadcast Operation Centers (BOCs) configured for commercial and streaming workflows
The addition of the new PCR builds on this existing foundation, expanding what the facility can offer to productions of any scale.
PCR Core
At the heart of the room sits a high-capacity 4 M/E production switcher, paired with a full intercom system that gives technical crews clear, flexible comms across every position.
A robust routing infrastructure keeps signals moving smoothly throughout the facility, supporting:
- 16 multiviewers
- 6 MADI paths
- Up to 9 working technical positions

Audio Control Room
The ACR is built around a large-format audio console with over a thousand inputs and 64 faders, giving productions the headroom and flexibility to handle even the most complex audio mixes.
Replay
Built for productions where replay is critical to the viewer experience. This PCR's replay suite includes multiple multichannel EVS systems, dedicated operator positions and a producer position, giving teams the speed and flexibility to deliver replays exactly when they're needed.
Connectivity and Support
The facility connects directly into NEP's 100GB backbone network, with additional connectivity through a range of telco providers, giving productions flexible, redundant paths to send and receive signals from virtually anywhere.
And because it's part of NEP's end-to-end managed services, the PCR is backed by the Connected Solutions NOC, along with dedicated Operations and Engineering support teams. That means productions aren't just getting a room full of great gear. They're getting a team behind it, too.
NEP Connected Solutions: giving broadcasters, rightsholders, streamers and sports leagues a single connected infrastructure to create, manage and monetize live content, from capture through global distribution, with the flexibility to scale any production up or down.
What's Next
This new PCR is just one piece of a larger story at NEP's Los Angeles facility. Additional expansion plans are already underway, with more space being reimagined to support growing production demand. We'll have more to share soon.
