As 2023 speeds toward many holiday breaks across the world, industry happenings and announcements are maintaining their usual constant pace. In this space, we’re tracking notable coverage featuring NEP Group and its global media technology solutions from the third and fourth quarters of the year.
First up, the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is enjoying a strong finish to 2023. The league recently announced a new four-year media deal described as the “largest media investment in women's sports history".
To boot, the recent NWSL Championship drew 817,000 viewers, the NWSL’s second-largest audience on record, as reported by SportsPro.
Sports Video Group covered the broadcast production for the league’s seminal matchup on Nov. 11, which included the NWSL’s “season-long live match production partner (NEP’s) VISTA Worldlink” and NEP’s Supershooter 8 mobile unit onsite in San Diego.
The write-up noted that when it comes to the championship match, the league’s collaboration with its broadcast partner ratchets up a level.
“We all work on this together. We’ve been on calls together from day one on storyline, on equipment, on trucks, on schedule; everything that goes into the production.”
Brian Gordon, SVP, Broadcast, NWSL
Capping off a memorable season for the NWSL, NJ/NY Gotham FC captured the title with 2-1 win over OL Reign.
NEP Australia Installs Calrec Argo Consoles
Several outlets including Sound & Video Contractor picked up the recent Calrec announcement detailing NEP Australia’s expansion of three new production suites in its Andrews Hubs in Sydney and Melbourne. The audio control rooms include Calrec Argo consoles.
Marc Segar, Director of Technology for NEP Australia is quoted in the release:
“The integration of the Calrec technology gives us complete control over our workflow and even enables the Argos to control Lawo technology installed in each truck, and vice versa. It’s incredibly flexible and aligns perfectly with our vision.”

CT’s New ‘Flight Pack Kits’, Key Promotions and a Live Nintendo Experience
Creative Technology, the global leader in technical support for live events and part of NEP Group, was featured several times throughout October and November.
Front of House Magazine reported on Sennheiser’s recent announcement noting CT’s creation of 140 Sennheiser EW-DX Wireless microphone ‘flight pack kits’ to serve its high-end corporate and special events clients.
The announcement featured impressive images of the new CT microphone kits lined up for days.
On Nov. 1, CT announced two key promotions to its executive management team, with Herb Brandt being named president of Creative Technology U.S. and Stephen Gray taking on the newly created role of senior vice president of NEP Live Events. The announcement trended across industry outlets including the Lighting & Sound International (LSi) and the full release can be viewed on the CT U.S. news site.
Elsewhere, CT’s support of the Nintendo Live experience garnered praise in a write-up from partner HOLOPLOT. The feature on the company’s website focused on CT using the “unique attributes of the X1 Matrix Array for orchestral performances of iconic musical scores of The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario at this year’s Nintendo Live experience at PAX West, the destination event celebrating gaming and gaming culture, in Seattle.”
Industry-leading live events tech combined with memorable musical scores at a gaming event sounds like a must-see.
